Let me give you the biblical perspective. Jesus said that the poor will always be there. I take that to mean there will always be lazy and stupid people.
I don't agree that the meaning of the word "poor" also incorporates the notions of "laziness" and "stupidity".

I have no doubt that I am more to the "left" on these matters than you, for what it's worth.

Working and providing for your family is not a task that one should take lightly.

You admitted earlier that Jesus called on the rich to not be selfish and take care of the poor. Right? So why trash people that your own god said you should show love to?

If there are poor people who are poor because of stupidity or laziness then that fact need to be understood and stated clearly. This is why some people cannot get out of poverty. Those in authority foolishly believe that lying and sugarcoating and trying not to offend people are virtues.

You're not simply pointing out that "some" poor people are that way due to character flaws; attacking the poor is your default tactic. Every single time the poor are discussed either on this forum or in Debates, you ALWAYS begin your posts by blaming the poor for their poverty.
