@sonship saidBecause of our human faculties, we can all think about possible realities and truths that exist outside of what we can sense with our five senses. All of us. So who are you talking about?
@FMFWhich -isms and -phobias do you think are morally unsound?
The phobia that thinks no reality or truth exists outside of what one can sense with his five senses.
If there were a human being who, for whatever reason [it's your idea so perhaps you need to give an example or scenarion - severe mental illness? Debilitating intellectual disability?], if such a human had to rely only on their five senses and had no other faculties or capacities, would it be fair to judge them in terms of human morality?
@sonship saidThat is really quite a strange thing to say!

Apart from the fact that we have far more than 5 senses
would anyone seriously question the reality of UV or infra-red,
both of which can show a reality we cannot directly sense?
@wolfgang59 saidI think he was just trying a bit too hard.

There was once a philosophy called Empiricism which be I had in mind.
Locke
IMO I still meet people who think only what they can sense is real. Some forms of materialism. "To BE is to be Perceived."
@sonship saidI think you were trying to land a little pretentious blow to the chin but just blurted out something half-baked instead and you've ended up making a fool of yourself.

@sonship saidYou meet people who do not believe in unseen radiation?

(ie gamma rays, radio rays, X-rays)
or unhearable sound?
(ultrasound)
Where do you meet these people?
@moonbus saidSure, but then the vegetables are the victims.
"Can anyone think of any good or wholesome 'isms'?"
Vegetarianism. Be kind to animals, don't eat them.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidWe don't hear strawberries scream, so they don't count.
Sure, but then the vegetables are the victims.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidJainism, there's a noble -ism. Respect for all life, including plant life. Extreme Jainists are called "sky-clad" meaning they walk about naked and will not walk even on grass so as not to trample plants. I do not know what they eat--maybe carrion, only from animals which died of natural causes.
Strawberry ice scream.
