I think this is another example of the liberal mews media's bias in dealing with the problems of Israel.

The left and right both have the right to speak their minds, I am an avowed lefty and I disagree with her stance completely. Israel has a right to defend itself but on the other hand, having lived there for most of the 1990's, I have seen both sides of the fence, having dear friends on both sides and can see the way the Israeli government treats the Palestinians, giving them the dregs of water, water that cannot grow crops and is dangerous to drink.
To counter that, the US funded a Palestinian water project for 50 million bucks to try to get them clean water. There are real issues on both sides.
I saw them up close and personal, including pulling broken glass bits out of one of our dear Israeli friends when she was 20 feet from a terrorist bomber in Diesengoff Square in Tel Aviv where she was busking, a virtuoso violinist, lost all her instruments that day and was shell shocked for 2 weeks staying at our flat while we tried to fix her up as best as we could.
She was EXTREMELY lucky not to have suffered real injury but psychologically, she was a wreck, seeing how the bomber's head flew off the body and landed in her lap.
I had three kids in school at the Anglican International school in Jerusalem and there were a number of bus bombings within 2 blocks of the school, although the school proper was never targeted, it was still very traumatic for our 6 year old twins and their 14 year old brother. They could not understand why anyone would want to bomb their friends.
I personally was shot at by a Palestinian terrorist although he missed, he went on to kill several people in Jerusalem before he was stopped.
In spite of all that, I have friends on both side the tweed.

Stand up, O Jerusalem,
You who have drunk at the hand of the Lord
The cup of His fury;
You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling,
And drained it out.
There is no one to guide her
Among all the sons she has brought forth;
Nor is there any who takes her by the hand
Among all the sons she has brought up.
These two things have come to you;
Who will be sorry for you?—
Desolation and destruction, famine and sword—
By whom will I comfort you?
Your sons have fainted,
They lie at the head of all the streets,
Like an antelope in a net;
They are full of the fury of the Lord,
The rebuke of your God.
Therefore please hear this, you afflicted,
And drunk but not with wine.
Thus says your Lord,
The Lord and your God,
Who pleads the cause of His people:
“See, I have taken out of your hand
The cup of trembling,
The dregs of the cup of My fury;
You shall no longer drink it.
But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you,
Who have said to you,
‘Lie down, that we may walk over you.’
And you have laid your body like the ground,
And as the street, for those who walk over.”
(Isaiah 51:17-23 NKJV)
