"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." -- John 3:16-17, KJV
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." -- 2 Peter 3:9. NIV
"Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?" -- Ezekiel 18:23, NIV
@suzianne saidRevelation 14:10
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." -- John 3:16-17, KJV
If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on his forehead or on his hand, he too will drink the wine of God’s anger, poured undiluted into the cup of His wrath. [b{And he will be tormented in fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. [/b](JESUS himself is overseeing the eternal burning alive)
So, what’s wrong with this picture?
On the one hand we have God so loving the world, the ENTIRE world, that he decides to give his physical life for EVERYONE, because he loved us that much “while we were STILL sinners”.... right?
Then... a couple of thousand years later, the boundless love and endless mercy seems to be less boundless, gone actually, and mercy seems to be a nonexistent concept, as these same people who God loved while they were sinners are burned alive or eternity while he, Jesus, sits and watches with the angels.
Anyone who thinks this is normal behaviour, who thinks this is morally coherent, who even thinks it makes any sense whatsoever in the light of and juxtaposition of John 3:16 is either lacking in something in their head, or lying.
These in the end of history are so obsessed with denying God that they would rather suffer any punishment then give up their dubious "pleasure" to totally rebel against their Creator.
"And the fourth [angel] poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given to it to burn men with fire.
And men were burned with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God, who has authority over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory." (Rev. 16:8,9)
Ie. In essence they say - "We would rather be tormented then EVER acknowledge your authority God!"
This is where some descendants of Adam are headed. Maybe some writing on this Forum.
"And the fifth [angel] poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast [Antichrist]; and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain and blasphemed the God of heaven for their pains and for their sores and they did not repent of their works." (Rev. 16:10,11)
Ie. "We'd rather gnaw our tongues in agony rather than repent to you God. We are unite with Satan and oppose you to the uttermost forever! "
This is where some of the descendants of Adam are headed. Loud and proud, deceived by the Devil to the uttermost.
"And great hail, every stone about the weight of a talent, came down out of heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague of it is exceedingly great." (16:21)
Some human beings will be locked in unreconcilable rebellion so intoxicated with the venture of denying God. They will prefer God's strongest judgment rather than give up the pleasure of going against the authority of their Creator.
@sonship saidOh dear. Your narcissism has you all puffed up again, sonship. Talking to you about not sharing your personal beliefs [regarding supernatural beings] does cause any feelings of being "intoxicated".

he did it out of anger
what does this say about him?
@lemondrop saidWhat does this say about him? It says that the human imagination has anthromorphized the being or entity that they believe created them.

@lemondrop said“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man." -- Luke 17:26, NIV
@Suzianne

2,000 years after sacking his son
it didn't do much did it?
you worship a shrinking god
evil has won
Just as then, judgement has been passed upon mankind.
Those who are evil will continue to be evil and it will increase until the last days.
Until it comes to pass, nothing more needs to be said.
And this is why we are past the age of prophets.
Like the beach full of starfish, to those who become saved, the Son of Man made a difference.
Some will listen, most will not.

you gonna make it into heaven
@lemondrop saidI don't know, meaning I don't know. Some claim to know, but they don't. Not judging from their actions, anyways. We have His promises, but sometimes the message gets twisted in our minds from God's will to our will.
so
you gonna make it into heaven
All I can do is my best to live by Jesus' doctrine to love God and to love my neighbor as I love myself. And to make sure that he didn't save my life in vain.
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." -- Matthew 5:20, KJV
Granted, that's not an unreasonably high bar, but it is still the minimum. And most still won't make it. Such is the evil of man in the last days.
