How do Mormons justify baptizing (dead) Jewish holocaust victims? Don't the Mormons see the travesty of their conduct?

Let me see. Mormons believe their god lives on the planet Kolob, Lucifer and Jesus are brothers, people on the moon dress like pilgrims, and people live on the surface of the sun. Shall I continue ?

What Christians now call the Bible mentions that practice, as well as the Septuagint which has a record of it as well. All the fine details concerning this life, death and the hereafter is still a mystery.

Not as whacky as posthumous marriage!!

Mormons believe that if a man lives a good enough life he can become god of his own universe. He then calls his wife from the grave and has eternal sex with her so she can populate his universe with souls.

Since these baptisms are meaningless why care if they do it?

Apparently, they are not meaningless to the Mormons who do it and to the families of the victims!

To a non-believer like me, "whacky" Mormon stuff is much of a muchness with sonship's stuff about 'eating Christ' or 'marrying Jesus' or Dasa's stuff about 'reincarnation as an insect' or galveston75's stuff about exactly 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses going to heaven to rule as kings and priests over the earth'.

Is it the Mormons who are upset?

No.
The Mormons think they are saving souls and thus doing good deeds. They are of course stripping the dignity away from people who have already been victimized.

If the people upset about this believe the mormons are doing nothing then why be upset.

They are not hurting anyone.

Actually they are hurting people. The Mormons list the baptisms in their genealogical records. Such records could lead future generations to believe their ancestors were not true to their original faith.
