@fmf saidFeel good legislation passed by a bunch of lawmakers who are no doubt jumping between the sheets with their shapely secretary's, staff members or anything else with a pulse. Sanctimony is a common byproduct of lawmakers in every nation.
Sex outside marriage is going to become punishable by 1 year in gaol here in Indonesia. Some have argued it is none of the government's business.

It will be interesting to see how their new laws deal with 2 women who were legally married in another country, but now live in Indonesia.
@fmf saidIn the Bible, many men have had many wives, and concubines. I'm not sure when society, or the Bible, has altered this.

As a gay man, I suspect this is their attempt to make a show of being even-handed while continuing to criminalize gay sex to placate the proud and easily agitated superstitious numpties who, it should be said, also have their counterparts over here in the Comments-Section States of the USA.
@moonbus saidThere is a form of polygamy-compliant "quickie" marriage called "nikah siri" available to Muslim men, as it were, and supposedly legitimate ~ while at the same time being done discreetly and on the hush-hush. I would tend to doubt that there would be successful prosecutions of people who had sex outside an erstwhile monogamous marriage through "nikah siri".
