the constant corrections to the path

passing, connecting, linking one to the next
next to the next
next to the other
a drop of sweat here
mixed with the toil of the other there
here some blood, then some more
a helix ladder braided
by a chorus of echoed concerts
until it culminated in a crescendo of breathless expectation
of exultation
this seed of the woman
fingerprinted from Abraham to Ozias,
from the exile from Babylon to Achim,
dozens, bakers dozens of men from the womb
not one able to receive the mantle

until He appeared.
