@fmf saidNo.
This holiday has precious little to do with the birth of humanity's savior and more of a fantastical corporate money grab.
This rings false for the followers of Jesus I live among here. Are you perhaps projecting some shallowness or emptiness you experience where you live onto the entire world?
Look, just admit you don't understand and drive on.
Jesus was born in early autumn, not winter. Yes, I realize the Church had to conflate it with Saturnalia to get more people onboard, but the fact remains it's the wrong time of year. It's simply not about Jesus. It's become "what am I getting for Christmas?" It's a corporate Hail Mary to prop up their bottom lines before the New Year.
So don't ask me if I"m projecting feelings I don't have. You understand nearly nothing about me. I'm not your punching bag for your own insecurities, either.
-Removed-No, again.
But I don't foolishly expect you to understand what truth is, anymore, either. Apparently, you seem to think the word truth was invented specifically for you and no one else. I'm glad I'm not as rigid as you. I understand there are people with different life experiences than me. Apparently, you never made it to that level of self-growrh.
@suzianne saidBut I'm not asking you if you are projecting feelings you don't have. If you look again, what I said was "This rings false for the followers of Jesus I live among here." And then I said "Are you perhaps projecting some shallowness or emptiness you experience where you live onto the entire world?
So don't ask me if I"m projecting feelings I don't have.
@mlb62 saidIn so far as Christmas is a time when family and friends, for many, are moved to centre stage, it's seems natural that it's also a time when we think of those who have died and not just those still living.
lol you got that right..I've been haunted by the Christmas ghosts 😱.. (of the female variety) 🤪
