@sonship saidAgreed. The 'copy' 'paste' analogy is not a good one, which is probably why you have not encountered it before. (Especially from a Christian).
@Ghost-of-a-DukeIf I copy text from one location and paste it into another it becomes a separate entity and in no way linked to the place I copied it from.
As a believer, have you become a god in your own right, an equal to God?
I don't think my analogy is exhaustively parallel. Most analogies are not exhaustively parallel.
Having said that the J ...[text shortened]... in which He can be copied as a living Person UNITED with YOU.
A higher profession does not exist.
If the 'Jesus Christ in the believers is not separate from Jesus Christ Who died and rose and is at the right hand of God' then it is not prudent to imply it is a copy that is pasted into the believer rather than the original.
Paul LONGED for the Philippians in the inner parts of Jesus Christ as Paul's inner parts. This is amazing. This is good news. This is salvation. This is the normal Christian life.
"For God is my witness how I long after you all in the inward parts pf Christ Jesus." (Phil. 1:8)
Why the very last word a man says is often the MOST important thing he has to say. What was the Apostle Paul's final written word in the New Testament? It is in Second Timothy.
Whatever else happens, whatever transpires, he wants Timothy and all of us to never forget this one crucial fact. The Lord is with our spirit if we are Christians.
"The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you." (2 Tim. 4:22)
Paraphrased - Timothy, always remember, NEVER forget, the Lord Jesus Christ is WITH your spirit. That is the grace, the empowering, the divine life in you.
"The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you."
In fact this is also the LAST WORD OF THE ENTIRE HOLY BIBLE -
Revelation 22:20,21
"He who testifies these things says, Yes I come quickly. Amen. Come Lord Jesus!
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen."
So why can we not say Jesus Christ can be copied into people ?
Agreed. The 'copy' 'paste' analogy is not a good one, which is probably why you have not encountered it before. (Especially from a Christian).
I did not say it was not a good analogy. I said like most it is not exhaustively parallel.
If the 'Jesus Christ in the believers is not separate from Jesus Christ Who died and rose and is at the right hand of God' then it is not prudent to imply it is a copy that is pasted into the believer rather than the original.
What do you thing "eternal" would mean in "eternal life"? That is not only life with endless duration. It is life beyond limitation.
The pasting of Christ into humans is the increase, the spread, the enlargement of Christ.
If anyone finds a problem with me saying Christ can be copied and pasted into people, the pure word of the Bible is better.
Concerning His resurrection He told His disciples -
"In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." (John 16:20)
Okay, The triune God "copying and pasting" Jesus Christ into human beings.
Why not?
One only begotten Son was destined by God to be the Firstborn among many brothers. So Christ is duplicated as to His communicable attributes, not as to His non-communicable attributes.
No other Redeemer or Lamb of God is duplicated to re-do that unique office.
But many sons are to be conformed to the image of the Firstborn Son. How? By "copying and pasting" the living Christ into the saved and redeemed.
"Because those whom He foreknew, He also predesrtinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers." ( Rom. 8:29)
No wonder God's happy voice speaks in the eternal age that He now has many sons.
"He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be God to him and he will be a son to Me." (Rev. 21:7)
