I'm sorry to see him go. Sixty six is too young. That he seems, based on his writing output, to have been relatively cognitively unaffected until the end counts as a blessing though. His public statements indicate to me that he didn't want to survive as a vegetable.

Very sad. I was only introduced to his books a few years ago, but found them immensely enjoyable. I certainly plan to read more of them.
Now both deceased before their time, because of Cancer and Alzheimer's.
We cannot cure these scourges fast enough.
