This must be an important principle; the writing of God’s law on the hearts of people, reasoning with them in their minds. God has called us to reason with him in our minds and to know him in our hearts:
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
Isaiah 1:18
”This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israelafter that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbour, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
Jeremiah 31:33
And later Paul witness the same quoting Jeremiah:
”This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”
Hebrew 10:16
So reasoning with God in our mind and knowing God in our heart are linked and at a fundamental level are the 2 pillars of our spiritual state and moral code.
To know God in your heart is therefore to have reasoned with him in your mind. So what shall we “reason” with God?
Premise: God is not looking for blind adherence to the Bible, God is looking for people who will seek him out, who will reason with him and who will know him.
@sonship saidYou are not guilty of blind adherence to the Bible, bearing in mind you frequently abuse scripture to accommodate the ramblings of a false prophet.

Has anyone here advocated "blind adherance" to the Bible ?
You are not guilty of blind adherence to the Bible, bearing in mind you frequently abuse scripture to accommodate the ramblings of a false prophet.
No, I include in my reasoning:
1.) All the Bible says, (not just some sentences)
2.) The factor of God's existence
3.) The factor of God's personality
4.) The testimony of God's track record as seen in His involvement in history.
These are factors I include in my reasoning process.
And that is in no way blind adherance.
I reason WITH God.
All your reasons are "minus God".
And you think because of that reasoning WITH God as a possibilty is blind
adherance.
I reason with factor of the historicity of Jesus.
You stick your head in the sand and hope to will power His presence in history
away.
That is a willfull blindness and intellectual denial.
@sonship saidYou are blind to what is actually written in scripture and continually apply a warped interpretation that isn't even your own.

And you are incapable of pointing that out except by brute accusation.
I look for the logic and it is not there.
You fall back on questionable ad populum fallacy.
What I see is a few Christians reading along and weighing things carefully - as they should. I have no problem with that.
Any brother or sister in the Lord saying I committed sin by believing the stupendous promises of God, I forgive. Some of these things take time.
You should realize with what you purport to know about the word of the Gospel will make you doubly responsible one day at the judgment of God. You can argue about the incarnation and the resurrection yet push Christ's salvation far away from you.
Will you be able to tell God "I didn't understand" ?

In no way imaginable does the bible tell of your personal deification.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
Is the divine nature of a Divine God ?
Yes?
No?
Does the Bible say the believers are partakers of the divine nature?
Yes?
No?
You may object to a word embracing that implication.
But if I blaspheme then it is because the New Testament blasphemed to teach me
such things.
So did the Apostle Peter blaspheme to teach "you might become partakers of the divine nature?" (2 Pet. 1:4)
Does the New Testament teach blasphemy to say forgiven sinners may become PARTAKERS of that nature which is divine nature ?
@sonship saidNone of that relates to your personal deification, but to a clear misunderstanding of scripture.

Saved and justified
Eternal life guaranteed
All sins are forgiven
Not even God can revoke their status
Now its deified
Its all preemptive taking what has not been given to them
It is God who says HE will exalt those who humble themselves under His mighty hand in due time.
King James Bible
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: (1 Pet. 5:6)
Compulsive blind down thumbers don't believe God, after the humbling under His hand, desires to exalt and lift up such ones in due time,
This is not humility for rejecting God's exalting in due time, but their unbelief.
Christians should simply persue the normal Christian life.
@sonship saidJust about all posters here including atheists are far more humble than you are

@sonship saidWith your torturer God ideology, when asked to attempt to explain its moral coherence, and when we boil it all down, you cannot make the ideology coherent, and instead you essentially resort to variations on It Is What It Is and Smell The Glove. That sounds like "blind adherence" to me.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Seems that while you're kicking the word of God to the curb, the word of God once again shows how superficial your words are.
Without the Bible you wouldn't know God at all. God's law is His word. If you want it written on your heart you better read God's word(the Bible)and believe it.
Or you can continue to dismantle it and see where that gets you.
