The three kinds of empathy are cognitive, emotional, and compassionate, or so I am told.

Is a capacity for empathy always a moral good?

What about sympathy?

Sympathy, mercy and also generosity (in all its forms).

Perhaps as a noun - courteous goodwill. Or maybe as a verb - do honor or credit to (someone or something).

Maybe it's a stretch. Not sure.
