Baptism.

Must water be used?

Is water necessary for the symbolic nature of baptism?

Would everyone here agree that water has spiritual significance, especially considering most seem to crave going to the ocean as a spiritual experience?

And if so, what is that symbolism?

Water used for religious purposes seems to be used as a form of cleansing.

And when we travel to the ocean it changes our mood.

There is definitely a spiritual element to water
