On a perhaps relevant tangent, assuming most of the stories about Jesus in the NT are based on real events, most people He encountered might have received only one of His lessons their entire lives.

The Gentiles especially would not have had the Torah, the Nevi'im, and the Ketuvim in their heads, or any of the New Testament -- whether orally or through literacy and ac ...[text shortened]... literate people with Bible databases finding just the right passage to support their point of view.
@divegeester, why are you dodging this response to your OP?

I asked you questions of a similar nature and you refused to answer. Yes the NT is part of the scripture but it was not part of the bible of the Apostles. There are books removed from the bible that the Aposltes used. Are you concerned about that?

The point is that you assume that God's word is the bible you have now when the truth is that this book has been manipulated by man, not by God.
Yes, books were removed and added when compiling the Bible for a cause; that doesn't dismiss what is in it as not part of the Word of God.

Since what was accepted as scripture is part of the Word of God, why do you reject the pieces you don't like because rejecting them makes those things you do accept different without them than with them? You are, in essence rewriting scripture to suit you, not submitting to scripture to suit God.

If you believe man corrupts the Bible, why trust any of it, God lost His ability to make Himself know as far as your concern?

God has written his laws in the hearts of men.

If you understand what that means then you know that the bible is not necessary. Nobody needs to read it, study it, or worship it like what Christians do.

Who worships a book?

Yes absolutely He writes it on our hearts, changing us from the inside out, conforming us to be like Christ. Our hearts are also deceitful which is why the scripture is so important, it provides to us a means to know when and where we are going astray, without that we can justify anything we want simply because we want it.

You dont even know what you are. Bible worshippers focus on the wording and writings of the bible, while the true worshippers of God focus on the spirit of the bible.. One is the letter of the law and the other is the spirit of the law. You are the letter of the law aka a bible worshipper.

The Good Samaritan story, provides a good illustration. The Priest and Levite were both bible worshippers. They read, they knew, they understood. The Samaritan acted.

Bible worshippers, place their faith in their understanding and in their knowledge.

Between the two of us I think I have a better handle on what I worship and why than you do. It is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit not Holy Bible.

Well there again is more proof. You are boasting of your knowledge and your understanding of the letter and wording of the bible. That is not a virtue. That what you do there is the teachings of MEN and not of God. Little do you realize that the Holy Spirit is not to be worshipped.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:21-24 KJV)

Jesus said true worshippers, worship the Father

So I will leave you to continue on with your boast of your understanding and knowledge of the letter and wording of the bible.
