In what way does your belief in an afterlife create worth in your life as you live it now? Can anticipation of everlasting life really create worth, in and of itself?
Our beliegs are totally irrelavent. Truth is truth no matter what we believe.

In what way does your certainty that the afterlife is "truth" create worth in your life?

Does the certainty you have that you will have everlasting life really create worth, in and of itself, during your Earthly lifetime?

Who said my life is worth anything?

You said: "If we do not exist after death then this life is worthless anyhow." But you believe you DO exist after death, the implication being that you 'existing after death' means this life of yours is NOT worthless. I am just addressing what you have posted.

Do I believe that? I believe some will live for eternity, but most are dead. Who is who is God's call not mine.

Does believing this make your life ~ now ~ worthwhile or worthless?

@FMF

My life has always been worthless.

A lot of the information you have shared about your life does seem to back this up. You have my sympathies.

Why? Everyone is in the same boat. I suppose most are self deluded.

My life is not "meaningless" or "worthless". So, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and philosophically, I am quite simply not in "the same boat" as you. Not at all.

Deluded? OK. Well, you can try to explain the difference between us as you see fit, but your own unilaterally declared lack of self-worth does not project anything onto, nor does it affect, the reality of the life I live or the way I assess its meaning.

Worthless people like to delude 'themselves' that others are the same.

"I tried to drown my sorrows. Turned out the little rotters could swim".

edit: that's where I heard it, turns out it's attributed to Frida Kahlo and might be worded differently.

What I am saying is absolutely true. Future generations will think about you, just as you think of people who have passed long ago.

Think of all the generations of your direct heritage that you are totally unaware.
