Not found in the Bible is the sentence -
Lord Jesus, You are everything I need.
Shall we never say it because it is not in the Bible?
Not found in the Bible is the sentence -
Holy Spirit HOW sweet you are to us.
Shall Christians not say this because it is not in the Bible?
Not found in the Bible the sentence -
Abba Father, I long to be swallowed up in Your life.
Shall the believers in Jesus not say such because the sentence is not in the Bible?
Divegeester is doing much the same as the ancient scribes and Pharisees did in
hounding the Son of God with their religion.
“Jesus flowing” not in the bible...
What does the bible say? It says “Jesus abides”.
The ground we Christians have for saying Jesus abides in us is clearly in the Bible.
John 15 is where Jesus says He is the true vine and the believers in Him are the branches.
"Abide in Me and I in you." (v.4)
1.) This is a command to abide in the Lord Jesus.
2.) This is also a command to allow the Lord Jesus as a result to abide in us.
Based on this Christians can say "Praise the Lord, Jesus abides in me."
The ground we have for saying the abiding Jesus also flows in us is in many places.
Concerning the flowing of the living waters in John 7:39 He spoke concerning the Spirit who those who believed into Jesus were about to receive.
Then latter (in John's Gospel) and in Paul's letters we see that the Lord Jesus (who abides) "is the Spirit" (2 Cor. 3:17) .
We see that the Lord Jesus, who abides, "became a life giving Spirit" (1 Cor. 15:45).
For Jesus to abide is for the life giving Spirit to abide.
For the Spirit to flow is for the Lord Jesus to flow.
“Fountain of blood” Not in the bible...
What does the bible say? “blood was shed” blood is “sprinkled”
There is plenty of ground to say "a fountain of the blood of Jesus" because there is a fountain for sin and impurity. And in actuality that refers to the redemption of Jesus Christ.
"In that day there will be an opened fountain . . . for sin and for impurity" (See Zechariah 13:1)
That refers to the redemption of the Son of God who established a new covenant in His blood.
Furthermore the blood gushed out of His wounded side as a fountain FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SINNERS.
"But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water.
And he who has seen this has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he says what is true, that you also may believe." (John 19:34,35)
If someone loves the Lord Jesus he can say that there is a fountain filled with the blood of Jesus to wash away his sins. There is nothing wrong. It is quite wonderful a praise.
And if a believer prefers NOT to state something like this WHY should he oppose others who love Jesus and want to praise the Lord this way?
You do not have to praise God in this way. You don't have to oppose some lovers of Jesus who do praise in this way.
@divegeester
Kick it back again.
“God is three” Not in the bible...
What does the bible say? “God is one”
Yes, "God is three" is not written.
But this is written about the one God.
" . . . baptizing them into the NAME [singular] of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matt. 28:19)
What is the name [singular] into which the saved are immersed is Father - Son - Holy Spirit.
Which one is not God?
Surely the Father is God.
Surely the Son is "Emmanuel - God with us" (Matt.1:23).
Surely God is Spirit. (John 4:24) and in trying to "deceive the Holy Spirit" Ananias "lied not to men but to God" (See Acts 5:3,4)
Works salvation
Personal relationship with Christ
Intimate relationship with Christ
Going to heaven
Why do you bear false witness?
Produce an example of me talking in this Forum about "Going to heaven".
I did speak much about Rapture. I did not speak about going to heaven as an eternal destiny. I think you know this.
So Divegeeester, thousands of poems and hymns about the Christian experience Christians should discard because they may contain phrases not specifically found in the Bible?
Did you ever hear the expression "Throwing out the baby with the bathwater."
Human words cannot exhaust the riches of enjoyment of the salvation in Christ. This doesn't mean every poem or hymn is of perfect conformity to orthodox teaching. But many are.
And the church hardly needs a Unitarian theologian to select for us which he approves.
Sonship, you are steeped in doctrinal error old chap.
"Now the Lord is the Spirit" (1 Cor. 3:17)
Is that one of them?
"[T]he last Adam became a life giving Spirit" ( 1 Cor. 15:45)
Is that another one of your old chap doctrinal errors?
Point out the old chap doctrinal error here where Paul uses "Spirit of God" synonymous with "Spirit of Christ" synonymous with "Christ" in Romans 8:9-11.
Point out the old chap error here.
"But you [Christians] are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Yet if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Him.
But if Christ is in you, . . . "
There is no error there. Maybe you just have no experience but ONLY doctrinal Unitarian dogmas.
