"For whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:38)
Are there words of Jesus which are a shame to you to believe He spoke them?
I find some words hard.
I too find some words hard to easily repeat in teaching.
I am human. Like His own disciples who were tempted to withdraw.
But I go to Him and confess and find peace in His presence. and from considering the whole picture of the Bible's revelation.
Some opt to argue "But He DIDN'T say thus and such" but have no proof of that wishful thinking.
@divegeester
No, not "I am ashamed of You Lord Jesus for THIS."
If I did, I would pray "Lord, help my sense of shame here."
But I do not think I am above Peter in my natural man.
He was ashamed of Jesus and denied Him three times.
So I have not been put INTO such a situation as that YET.
I find some words hard or difficult.
But I readily admit that Jesus spoke them and do not pretend He didn't.
I find some saying difficult to inteerpret.
There are none which I interpret to mean the direct opposite of what was said.
I trust the New Testament writers that the word is inspired, of God, trustworthy, candid, and faithful. I trust they were above self serving, twistng, shrinking back from what their Master taught.
@sonship saidYou are ashamed of the gospel Jesus preached pertaining to the kingdom of God. It starts in Matt 5, the Sermon on the Mount.

Those teachings are the core principles of eternal life. How do I know that you are ashamed of them you might be wondering... you have never once quoted those teachings in the 15 yrs you have been on this forum.
