Summary:
Walter Martin brandished a single sentence from a footnote in the Recovery Version of the New Testament as “proof” that Witness Lee was anti-Christian. His out-of-context quotation of this sentence obscured Witness Lee’s biblical critique of the deviation of “isms” from the revelation in God’s Word.
Anyone who wants to further debate with me about what Witness Lee said about Judiasm, Catholocism, and Protestantism I ask to FIRST read this article.
@FMF
If you want Walter Martin to be someone you see eye to eye with, then go research what he has to say about atheists. See if everything is "in context" for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Folks, read the article for yourselves.
Don't depend on FMF to have read it for you.
He's just one opinion like everybody else.
How's the context now FMF?
Truth by definition is exclusive. If truth were all-inclusive, nothing would be false.
Walter Martin
Context ok here FMF ?
It should be carefully noted that Jesus did not say, "I am one of the equally good ways" or "I am a better way than the others, I am an aspect of truth; I am a fragment of the life." Instead, His claim was absolute, and allegiance to Him as the Savior of the world, was to take precedence over all the claims of men and religions.
Walter Martin
Hardy agreement with Martin here, FMF ?
Or just hardy agreement when Martin is criticizing Witness Lee ?
Who made God? Doesn't matter. We are not responsible to a hypothetical maker of God but to our maker - God.
Walter Martin
Good context FMF?
Good reliable statement from Martin for you ?

@fmf saidHe does seem to be going to extraordinary lengths to water down Lee's assertion that Jews and Christians are in an organization of Satan. By the end of the week, he will be trying to convince us that Lee was actually being complimentary.
I don't see how Witness Lee's anti-Christian and anti-Jewish comment was "taken out of context".
@ghost-of-a-duke saidSonship is best left alone to full up these pages ranting and arguing with himself.

@sonship saidYou seem to be getting lost.

@sonship saidWhy are you trying to make excuses for Witness Lee's assertion that Jews and Christians are in an organization of Satan? If you follow Lee, follow him. If you are intent on being a propagandist for him and his every word, then just do it. Your wriggling and queasiness achieve nothing that serves Witness Lee well.

@sonship saidTargeted at atheists, yes. Are you okay If we reciprocate?
@Ghost-of-a-DukeJust to clarify, you lack respect for the opinions of atheists? 'Respect' the basic requirement of civilized interactions. You lack this?!
Just to clarify my comment was rather targeted. Wasn't it?
I lack a respect for your atheism to regard anything significant in your input on the matter.
Currently, for example, I always capitalize 'God' and 'Him.' If mutual respect is off the table, maybe I should stop doing this?
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
When I say targeted, I emphasize that "your" was targeted at FMF.
I lack a respect for your atheism to regard anything significant in your input on the matter.
Capital G or small g is up to you.
It hardly makes a difference to the reality of things - God is.
@sonship saidIs this part of your "more Hope for FMF" thing?
