In 2007 Sammy Sosa received a base salary of $500 thousand dollars from the Texas Rangers, and in 114 games (87 starts as DH) he produced 21 HRs 92 RBI and a .252 avg.

Sammy Sosa wants to play in the majors next year, but only if a team pays him $7 million dollars.

Dionisio Soldevila (AP) reported that Sosa didn't see a lot of action after the All-Star game. "It was devastating when manager Ron Washington called me into his office and told me they were going to cut back my playing time," [Sosa] said. "My reaction was to go home and quit."

That's our Sammy.
