Undefeated Team USA heads into South America to face Argentina in a game that has more upside than downside for a traditionally under-rated American side that has shown unusual promise so far in 2007.

The world has noticed USA's phenomonal run in '07 and no doubt the smart money is eyeing the long odds on this match with intense interest.

Thursday's match will be the pre-eminent match of the year facing two of the 10 best teams in the world in an important Tournament, the Copa America.

I don't think USA is going to do as well in Copa America as they did in the Gold Cup because they are going to be playing with a whole different team. Bob Bradley replaced almost all of the starters and impact players from the current roster and replaced them with players that are averaging approximately 5 caps. I think he is trying to develop the younger guys rather than make a statement to the world. But I am still going to watch the matches. 😀

    Should be real exciting.

Don't discount Bradley...but you may be right...he clearly has his eyes on the big prize in 2010.

Argentina has a history of folding early.

Well, Mexico will get a win and a draw with Chile and Ecuador, and
will be defeated by Brasil. The next stage should not be a problem,
and will keep advancing unless it finds Argentina in the way, because
the Argies are the classic executor of the Mexican team.

Let's see if Mexico finds the U.S. in the way and gets payback from
    the Gold Cup 'issue' 😞

I'd love to see another re-match.

Mexico would probably have the edge playing in Venezuela.

It would be sweet if both USA and Mexico got to the finals again. I am definitely rooting for both teams.

I think all in all you have to be pretty impressed with the performance of all of the Gold Cup squads...Canda, Guadeloupe, Salvador, Cuba, and all the rest played at a higher level than ever before.

Mexcio v. USA in the finals of the Copa would be sweeeeeeet!
