    How come the High Jump is not more popular than let's say Football ? It's way more athletic don't you think ?

    As a former high-jumper, I'd have to say that the skill level of the athletes is as great as any on a track team. But, high-jump has little appeal to the fan, compared to the other events, because there are almost no variables. It's you and the bar. To the fan, it's like watching a free throw in the midst of a basketball game.
