Just wondered how other football supporters viewed us (the fans), and what experiences you'd had of us at home or away?

I could've said exactly the same thing about your lot! Bearing in mind you'd just won Prem status with the last kick of the match, you were quiet as mice on the tube...

It's all enclosed now, no open corners.
And whilst capacity is only 33,000, even Pig fans from across the city would concede that we now have the better ground.

    Yeah, we deserved it!
The Frenchmen from North London weren't up for a battle were they?
Fancy Dans who only want to play in Europe in the sun - coming up to South Yorkshire on a cold, wet, windy December was not high on their list of 'wants' when they signed for Wenger!

Arsenal = no bottle, and no speaka di English!

I can't remember the exact year, but it was a while back (Notts County FA Cup 3rd Round 1-1 draw).

It sounds like it's improved a bit. At the time the lower tier of the stand extended beyond the upper tier, it had been raining until about 30 minutes before kick-off, and I got a (very wet) seat at the end!!!

My other complaint was the refreshment kiosk, it was tiny. By the time I got to the front of the queue it was 5 minutes into the second half and they only had meat and potato pie left.

Yes the Bramall Lane (away end) lower tier used to get wet at the front - that's undercover now since the upper tier revamp.

BTW, if you're a Notts County fan, how dare you 'call' our ground? I went there on a Bank Holiday Monday early 90's - the away end was totally exposed!!!

You were lucky there were any pies left at all!

In my opinion, most grounds' catering facilities are abysmal (excluding Old Trafford, where they do appear to realise that football fans are actually people!).

Best pie I ever had was at Stoke City's old Victoria Ground... worst was at Darlington 'cos they didn't have any - all they had was Mars Bars and Bovril!!!

Early 90s? I think that would have been the old ground with the terraces. Everything got rebuilt after the Taylor Report and it's one of the best grounds in the bottom half of the league now.

Warnock was your Manager.... I think we won 2-1, Glyn Hodges scored... it might have been the old 1st Division?
The opposite end to us had scaffolding up, so they were obviously doing some rebuilding...
We went down in a mini bus, got drunk in the pubs around the ground, and 2 of my mates got in for a fiver as 'Junior Magpies' (they were in their 20's at the time!!!) When we scored they celebrated and then got escorted round the perimeter and back in to the away end!

    Happy days!
