I have my settings set to delete cookies etc on exit of the internet as I find them intrusive.

However, this results in me getting repeated messages from Norton anti-virus (where I have clicked 'do not show again' and also; I have to login every day to read articles in papers like the Sydney Morning Herald.

I use Microsoft Edge and have tried keying in the website address of sites I trust eg Sydney Morning Herald but to no avail.

Has anyone had experience in this area and have any suggestions please?

If you are not logged into a website, then the only way that website can "remember" your preferences is with a cookie.

So, if you delete those on exit, then it will appear as you are a new user next time you visit.

edit : And those cookies are there to remember your session when you log in too - so you will be logged out if you delete them also.

@Russ

Thanks Russ

I had hoped the feature in Edge would allow certain cookies to be retained and I simply had not got the settings right.

Anyway, cheers and thank you for the reply and keep up the fantastic work on RHP

If you want to spend the time configuring it, you can do this in Edge.

Setting : Cookies and Site Permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > Cookies and site data

You can set custom settings for each site and cookie path.
