The favorites. Who has fulfilled their favoritism. Who did not and why they didn't.
Group 1 - IronMan31 (2459, 2382 at Jan 3rd) had no problem to easily confirm his ample favoritism. 24 games, 24 wins, 72 points, 12 opponents crushed, no chances for nobody.
IronMan31 stands the Italy flag.
Group 2 - Fnugbatter (1856, 1821 at Jan 3rd) was the group favorite, followed by rizzers (1662, 1760 at Jan 3rd) and futureman (1823, 1695 at Jan 3rd).
Fnugbatter has beaten rizzers, a win as white (Game 870361) and a draw as black (Game 870283). Against futureman, a tie, one win as black to each side (Game 870359 & Game 870259). And, unfortunately or not, in the board Game 870331, Fnugbatter lost decisive points to alwaysup (1404, 1221 at Jan 3rd).
In his turn, futureman didn't lose points for another players, neither for rizzers (Game 870252 & Game 870275), and has progressed alone against Fnugbatter favoritism.
futureman stands the US flag.
Group 3 - Exy (1855) was a 1863 player at tournament start and was the group favorite.
His closest opponents were bobbyboomer (1686, 1622 at Jan 3rd), vrobke (1550, 1606 at Jan 3rd), and neight (1927, 1572 at Jan 3rd).
During the games, neight, a rising player in RHP, presented himself as the toughest fighter, scoring two draws against Exy (Game 870527 & Game 870416) and a no defeat 1st round run.
However, neight lost points in a draw as black to bobbyboomer (Game 870452)and Exy has confirmed his favoritism, progressing alone.
Now, maybe neight should be called the group favorite, but it changes nothing.
Exy stands the UK flag.
Group 4 - At tournament start, January 3rd, Quirine (2124), with 1927 points, and sastorey (2063), with a rising rating graph and 1934 points, were the group favorites.
Quirine won both games against sastorey in two tough fights (Game 870545 & Game 870645), one 55 and other 67 moves game. He won all his other games in 1st round too, 24 wins, 72 points, just as IronMan31, and has progressed alone.
Quirine stands the Netherlands flag.
Group 5 - At January 3rd, Joop506 (1918), with 2004 points, and ericfrelicot (1939), with 1908, were the group favorites.
The closest opponents, far behind the group higher rated players, were Oleg Margolin (1649, 1617 at Jan 3rd), Phillidor284 (1733, 1586 at Jan 3rd), Chess Slayer (1956, 1513 at Jan 3rd), and unclescooby (1553, 1502 at Jan 3rd).
Joop506 and ericfrelicot had a great fight, a draw in one of their games (Game 870725) and a win for ericfrelicot as white in the other (Game 870803).
Joop506 also lost points for the lower rated opponents. He had a tie with Oleg Margolin (1649, 1617 at Jan 3rd), two wins as black for each side (Game 870721 & Game 870755), a tie with unclescooby (1553, 1502 at Jan 3rd), two wins as white for each (Game 870718 & Game 870706), and was beaten by Phillidor284 (1733, 1586 at Jan 3rd), a defeat as white (Game 870719) and a draw as black (Game 870731), losing all his chances in the competition.
In his turn, ericfrelicot won all his games against the lower rated players, except one, a hidden strong candidate to progress in the group, an ascendant player, an opponent that couldn't be ignored, Chess Slayer.
Chess Slayer has beaten ericfrelicot, with a win as white (Game 870846) and a draw as black (Game 870812), had a tie with Joop506, one win as white for each one (Game 870839 & Game 870728), won all other games in his 1st round career, and has progressed alone to the 2nd round.
Chess Slayer stands the US flag.
Group 6 - No surprises. cludi (2141, 2082 at Jan 3rd) was, by far, the group favorite. He lost a game as white (Game 870964) to terminmater (1776, 1723 at Jan 3rd), but won all other games and has progressed alone.
cludi stands the Denmark flag.
Group 7 - Obviously, nicohuyboom (2194,2120 on Jan 3rd) was the group favorite. Dustnrogers (1852, 1377 at Jan 3rd), with his floating rating, due to multiple timeouts on opened short time games in his absences, and a impressive move fashion, fast, but also wise, could not be omitted.
Dustnrogers has started this thread at Jan 5th, when it was impossible to see the 2005 Championship tables, and announced his recent achievement: two wins, no defeats. The day after, the same pace, six wins no defeats.
But, as fast as he defeated the low rated players, he has realized that it couldn't be so easy: Jan 7th, 8 wins, 2 defeats (Game 871029 & Game 871006). It was nicohuyboom, the 2140 rated player mentioned by him.
Feeling himself out of the contest, Dustnrogers lost one more game (Game 871053), for a minor player, pineapple42 (1197) who was around 1300 in the January early days.
Fulfilling his role, nicohuyboom won all his games, 24 wins, 72 points, as Quirine and IronMan31.
nicohuyboom stands the Netherlands flag.
Group 8 - This was the battle field for David Tebb (2296, 2291 at Jan 3rd) and meman (2251, 2199 at Jan 3rd).
It must be noted the unlucky spriggles (1993, 1924 at Jan 3rd). Yes, that's an unlucky guy. Forced to face two top ten players in the 1st round, when he was able to progress to 2nd round with just a little better fate in championship pairing.
But spriggles did well. At least, he did a nice run, he was beaten by the group monsters as black (Game 871168 & Game 871228), but had two draws as white (Game 871257 & Game 871262).
In the battle field, David Tebb imposed his better condition against meman, a win as white (Game 871165) and a draw as black (Game 871221), and has progressed.
David Tebb stands the England flag.
Group 9 - No top 100 players. Actually, no top 200 players. And maybe, no top 500 players. A place where a common player could make it.
The group favorite was ouroboros (1620, the same around Jan 3rd). His closest opponents were dc3 (1445,1488 at Jan 3rd), 0rbital (1521, 1469 at Jan 3rd), and the surprising nickybutt (1629, 1447 at Jan 3rd).
As white, nickybutt has defeated all his opponents except dc3, against whom he had a draw (Game 871394). As black, almost the same, all wins except two draws, again against dc3 (gid]871334[/gid]) and against scubagold (1291, 1276 at Jan 3rd - Game 871382), a player with a strange rating graph due to his many defeats for timeout, in a game out of the group favorites particular contest.
Fortunately for nickybutt, also out of the group favorites contest, ouroboros lost for lechler (1397, 1364 at Jan 3rd - Game 871318), 0rbital lost for antonymayhew (967, 1256 at Jan 3rd - Game 871420), and dc3 lost for scubagold (Game 871333).
So, ouroboros, 0rbital and dc3 lost 3 points for players out of the group main candidates to progress, while nickybutt lost only 2 points for those players.
Besides the equality in the games against nickybutt, dc3 couldn't make better than him against ouroboros and Orbital, so nickybutt has progressed alone frustrating his rivals favoritism.
nickybutt stands the Denmark flag.
Group 10 - Duhian (2279, 2153 at Jan 3rd) and Kawika (1622, 2038 at Jan 3rd) were the group favorites.
It seems that Kawika had disdained the tournament and Duhian fulfilled his role winning all his games. 24 wins, 72 points, as IronMan31, Quirine and nicohuyboom.
Duhian was standing the Portugal flag. Unfornately he left RHP, but maybe he will show up for the 2nd round."

So, a little late, but still in time, let's go for...
The 2005 Championship 1st Round Analysis Group by Group - Part 2: Groups 11 to 19.
The favorites. Who has fulfilled their favoritism. Who did not and why they didn't.
Group 11 - Another place for common players. lucifershammer (1505, 1570 at Jan 3rd), RebelRouser (1213, 1553 at Jan 3rd), Kresten (1673, 1542 at Jan 3rd), and hooptroop (1714, 1506 at Jan 3rd) were the group favorites.
But other players also performed an important role to the group final result: SeaHag (1298, 1479 at Jan 3rd), Vegar (1594, 1430 at Jan 3rd), ZorroRojo (1274, 1403 at Jan 3rd), ThePenguin (1362, 1370 at Jan 3rd), AndyGates1979 (1272, 1181 at Jan 3rd), and cevans (1299, 1153 at Jan 3rd).
Against those other players:
a) lucifershammer, as white, lost for AndyGates1979 (Game 871635) and had draws with SeaHag (Game 871709) and ThePenguin (Game 871701), losing 7 points;
b) RebelRouser lost both games for Vegar (Game 871784 & Game 871772) and ThePenguin (Game 871773 & Game 871640), and, as black, also lost for ZorroRojo (Game 871760) and SeaHag (Game 871748), losing 18 points;
c) Kresten, as white, lost for Vegar (Game 871699), and, as black, lost for ZorroRojo (Game 871754), ThePenguin (Game 871633), and cevans (Game 871635), losing 12 points; and finally
d) hooptroop, as black, lost only for ZorroRojo (Game 871756), losing just 3 points.
So, against opponents out of the group favorites, hooptroop had the best performance.
Between the group favorites:
a) lucifershammer, as white, defeated Kresten (Game 871706) and lost for RebelRouser (Game 871712) and hooptroop (Game 871707), and, as black, he lost all games (Game 871779, Game 871694 & Game 871719), scoring only 3 points of 18 possible;
b) RebelRouser, as white, beaten Kresten (Game 871778) and lucifershammer (Game 871779), and lost for hooptroop (Game 871780), as black, he won lucifershammer (Game 871712) and lost for Kresten (Game 871700) and hooptroop (Game 871724), gaining 9 points;
c) Kresten, as white, subdued lucifershammer (Game 871694) and RebelRouser (Game 871700), but lost for hooptroop (Game 8717695), and, as black, the same, victories against lucifershammer (Game 871706) and RebelRouser (Game 871778) and defeat versus hooptroop (Game 871718), obtaining 12 points; and
d) hooptroop has won all his games as white (Game 871719, Game 871724 & Game 871718, and, as black, (Game 871695, Game 871707 & Game 871780), achieving the 18 possible points and positioning himself out of reach of all his immediate opponents.
This way, hooptroop, the least of the group favorites, progressed alone.
He stands the Iceland flag.
Group 12 - Baca (2235, 2089 at Jan 3rd) was the group top player and hadn't no adversaries. He crushed all his opponents, just like IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom and Duhian, scoring 66 points.
Baca stands the Slovakia flag.
Group 13 - Strange group. Full of surprises. Darfius (1669, 1622 at Jan 3rd), trumpi (1153, 1548 at Jan 3rd) and iamatiger (1570, 1538 at Jan 3rd) were the favorites, but we can't forget UncleAdam (778, 793 at Jan 3rd), who was the bet of important RHP players π.
The strangest behave of the tournament can be found in this group. Cheshire Cat (1557, 1016 at Jan 3rd), who used to be a 1500+ player before Christmas, resigned all his 2005 Championship games at the 1st move.
Between the group top player, a tough fight: Darfius has won both games as white (Game 872047 & Game 872042)and, as black, lost for trumpi (Game 872026), achieving 9 points of 12 possible; trumpi was the worst from them, losing both games for iamatiger (Game 872020 & Game 871969), and, as black, lost for Darfius (Game 872047), obtaining only 3 points; halfway, iamatiger, defeated trumpi and lost both games for Darfius, scoring 6 points.
But, galloping aside, there was GauravV (1835, 1042 at Jan 3rd), who used to be a 1600/1700 player last year, winning all his games, except two draws with Darfius (Game 872047) and trumpi (Game 872047), and progressing alone for the group favorites deception.
Of course, due to his history in RHP, GauravV had to be listed between the favorites as Cheshire Cat. But his low rating at the tournament start may made him something invisible for his opponents. was it just a coincidence? Or a well elaborated strategy?
GauravV stands the India flag.
Group 14 - One more group for common players. Maybe, the best group for common players.
The group top player was Lazerblue (1216, 1465 at Jan 3rd), the lower rated between all groups top players.
Lazerblue was close followed by cantspell (1622, 1456 at Jan 3rd) and they had tied their match, one win for each one as black.
Actually, playing as black, they won all their games. But, playing as white, cantspell, in the board Game 872118, also lost for bzartman1 (1253, 1303 at Jan 3rd). And Lazerblue had a draw with DTH (1369, 1354 at Jan 3rd) in the board Game 872049, lost for rutmans (1496, 1368 at Jan 3rd) in the board Game 872052, and lost for 4everknight (1239, 1267 at Jan 3rd) in the board Game 872053.
So, cantspell progressed alone. He stands the UK flag.
Group 15 - This group wasn't an easy one. SteveC (1654, 1971 at Jan 3rd) was the group top player, 109 points ahead from ivanhoe (1950, 1862 at Jan 3rd), and 178 poinst ahead from David G (1874, 1793 at Jan 3rd).
Between those players, three ties: SteveC versus ivanhoe, one win as white for each one (Game 872236 & Game 872185); SteveC versus David G, one win as black for each side (Game 872207 & Game 872238); and ivanhoe against David G, one win as white for each (Game 872182 & Game 872203).
Aside those games, David G, in the board Game 872205, lost one more for flexmore (1735, 1499 at Jan 3rd), and ivanhoe had a draw with the same flexmore in the board Game 872214.
SteveC didn't lost points for another players and progressed alone.
SteveC stands the Angola flag, but I doubt he's an Angolan, I think that he's an American or an Englishman. Does any one know the truth?
Group 16 - Perrys (2128), a rising RHP player, started the tournament scoring only 1688 rating points, just enough to be pointed as the group favorite.
He didn't give no chances for his opponents in the 2005 Championship 1st Round, and, as IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian and Baca, won all his games.
Today he's in the Player Tables 2nd page and is the 12th higher rated player in the 2nd round.
Perrys stands the UK flag.
Group 17 - No surprises here. The group top player, and favorite, cbd (1929, 2119 at Jan 3rd)) won all his games, just like, IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca and Perrys.
Group 18 - When the 2005 Championship has started, harrinpj (1346, 1862 at Jan 3rd) was the group top player and one of its favorites with Siskin (1785, 1800 at Jan 3rd).
In their particular fight, harrinpj won both games from Siskin (Game 872593 & Game 872644) and, as IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys and cbd, also won all his games.
He doesn't stand a country flag.
Group 19 - LightSoul (1739, 1757 at Jan 3rd) and sergen1976 (1667, 1657 at Jan 3rd)) were the group favorites.
In their immediate contest, a tie, one win as white for each one (Game 872803 & Game 872782).
In the other games, sergen1976, in the board Game 872714, had a draw with msondgroth (940, 1213 at Jan 3rd) and LightSoul lost for Starrman (1319, 1277 at Jan 3rd) in the board Game 872804.
This way, sergen1976 progressed alone. He stands the Russia flag.

Now, for Steve delight, and anyone who was wating for this...
The 2005 Championship 1st Round Analysis Group by Group - Part 3: Groups 20 to 28.
The favorites. Who has fulfilled their favoritism. Who did not and why they didn't.
Group 20 - Another place for the common player. Dragofonz (1624, 1560 at Jan 3rd) and Macroman (1541, 1523 at Jan 3rd) were the group favorites. About 100 points behind there was spinit6 (1410, 1434 at Jan 3rd).
Maybe it must be mentioned smythe (1440, 1226 at Jan 3rd), who used to be a 1500+ player at November, who has resigned all his games at the first moves except versus spinit6, against whom he played until the game end, winning as white (Game 872858) and losing as black (Game 872919).
But, besides their favoritism, Macroman, spinit6, smythe and his weird behavior, hadn't done nothing to change the group final result.
Dragofonz, in his turn, fought until the end for the 2005 Championship 2nd round, and his main opponent was Steve, husband of Dawn and father of the young James William, know in RHP as JimmyBilly (1516, 1383 at Jan 3rd).
They had a tie in their match, one win as black for each side (Game 872883 & Game 872954) and they may progress together, but Dragofonz lost one other decisive game, versus kw72uk (1319, 1380 at Jan 3rd), as black, in the Game 872899.
So, JimmyBilly, overcoming the group favorites, get his deserved 2nd round ticket alone in this exciting and not boring group.
JimmyBilly stands the England flag.
Group 21 - This one definitely was the most surprising group of all!
Far from any other group player, there was caissad4 (1897, 1804 at Jan 3rd), the only group favorite.
After him, nook7 (1501, 1537 at Jan 3rd), crosljam (1444, 1454 at Jan 3rd), the castler (1411, 1450 at Jan 3rd) and Celsius I (1371, 1388 at Jan 3rd).
As it was expected, caissad4 was crushing all of them, but there was a stone in the pathway, ggoulam (1530, 1358 at Jan 3rd), odd 446 rating points behind.
They had one draw (Game 873047), and playing as black, ggoulam imposed an impressive defeat to caissad4, counterattacking a virtually lost position, specially for his opponent superiority, in the Game 873068.
What could I say? I love this game!
The rating difference between caissad4 and ggoulam (446), in the Championship start, was the third large among any top group player and the leading group player progressing to the 2nd round.
It's only behind of the differences between Darfius and GauravV (580) from the Group 13, and between Joop506 and Chess Slayer (491) from the Group 5. But, today GauravV is a 1835 player, 166 points ahead of Darfius; Chess Slayer is a 1987 player, 55 points ahead of Joop506; and ggoulam is a 1530 player while caissad4 is a 1897 one.
So, as I have sad before, this group definitely was and still is the most surprising group of all!
The unexpected ggoulam stands the France flag and he must write a profile and express himself in this thread.
Group 22 - Another no surprises group. I like them. It much easier to do their analysis.
Far ahead of all other group players, hushpuppy (1362, 1997 at Jan 3rd) was the group favorite and as IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys, cbd and harrinpj, hushpuppy won all his games.
He stands the Scotland flag
Group 23 - Here we had a tough fight. Knight Time (1693, 1699 at Jan 3rd), GalaxyShield (1502, 1605 at Jan 3rd), Springi (1497, 1599 at Jan 3rd) and Jorgito (1595, 1596 at Jan 3rd) were the group favorites.
But another players had also performed an important role for the group final result, even better than some above listed, they are: Hegemon (1621, 1474 at Jan 3rd), Big Blue To You (1595, 1450 at Jan 3rd), dna120 (1401, 1309 at Jan 3rd) and screeme (1292, 1298 at Jan 3rd).
Knight Time won all his games as white, except a draw with Jorgito (Game 873324). As black, he had a draw with Hegemon Game 873350, a defeat for Jorgito again (Game 873283) and wins in all other games.
Therefore, Jorgito and Hegemon, a rising player who was out of the group top competitors, were the only real opponents for Knight Time.
Actually, in the games between those players, Jorgito was the best, defeating Hegemon in both games of their match, achieving 10 of 12 possible points, while Knight Time scored only 5, and Hegemon, just 1.
Against other contestants, Knight Time lost 2 more points in a draw with GalaxyShield (Game 873339).
Jorgito, in his turn, as white, had a draw with screeme (Game 873280), and lost for GalaxyShield (Game 873284), Springi (Game 873282) and Big Blue To You (Game 873286), and, as black, two more defeats, again for Big Blue To You (Game 873286) and for dna120 (Game 873286), losing 17 points.
Jorgito lost so many points for players out of the contest, that Hegemon, who won all other games, performed better than him in the 1st round.
So, Knight Time confirmed his favoritism.
Knight Time stands the England flag.
Group 24 - No surprises. The group favorite was crusoe (1598, 1679 at Jan 3rd). A zero defeat career, 21 wins, only a draw (Game 873433) with his closest opponent, Zipdrive Nightmare (1644, 1464 at Jan 3rd), and crusoe progressed to the 2nd round.
He stands the Ireland flag.
Group 25 - Again, no surprises. Prefect (1765, 1707 at Jan 3rd), as IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys, cbd, harrinpj and hushpuppy, won all his games and progressed to the 2nd round.
Prefect stands the Denmark flag.
Group 26 - A place where any player would feel himself uncomfortable.
Two RHP top players, Feivel (2108, 2166 at Jan 3rd) and
Northern Lad (2255, 2114 at Jan 3rd), fighting for a place in the 2nd round.
Against other players, only what would be expected, Feivel and Northern Lad smashed them all games.
In their particular contest, a draw (Game 873741) and a win, as black, for Northern Lad, that gave him the 2005 Championship 2nd round ticket.
Northern Lad stands the England flag.
Group 27 - Gagucci (1874, 1815 at Jan 3rd) was the group top player and only favorite. His closest opponents were more than 200 points behind: jotuvillo (1716, 1606 at Jan 3rd) and mistsplicer (1900, 1604 at Jan 3rd), a rising no defeat RHP player.
But Gagucci didn't done good, he had draws with jotuvillo (Game 873878) and Texan (1527, 1440 at Jan 3rd, Game 873859), and lost both games for mistsplicer (Game 873889 & Game 873858).
Just like IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys, cbd, harrinpj, hushpuppy and Prefect, splicing in the mist, owning all his games, mistsplicer progressed alone to the 2nd round.
He stands US flag.
Group 28 - The group favorites was koen (1916, 1973 at Jan 3rd) and rosaline (2087, 1931 at Jan 3rd).
In their immediate battle, a tie, one win for each side as black (Game 873912 & Game 874003).
Against other competitors, rosaline won all games, while koen did almost the same, except a draw with Vovochka (1771, 1729 at Jan 3rd) in the Game 873914.
Ergo, rosaline progressed alone to the 2nd round. He stands the Ireland flag.

Group 17 - No surprises here. The group top player, and favorite, cbd (1929, 2119 at Jan 3rd)) won all his games, just like, IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca and Perrys. (...)
He stands the Portugal flag.
And finally...pheeeeew!! π
The 2005 Championship 1st Round Analysis Group by Group - Part 4: Groups 29 to 37.
The favorites. Who has fulfilled their favoritism. Who did not and why they didn't.
Group 29 - Talem16 (1683, 1843 at Jan 3rd) was the group favorite, followed by anom-asil (1581, 1680 at Jan 3rd) and Kingo2000 (1733, 1645 at Jan 3rd).
In their immediate matches, three ties:
a) Talem16 v anom-asil, two draws (Game 874082 & Game 874061);
b) Talem16 v Kingo2000, one win as white for each side (Game 874087 & Game 874128); and
c) anom-asil v Kingo2000, one win as white for each side (Game 874065 & Game 874126).
Thus, while Talem16 and anom-asil scored 5 points in the group top players contest, Kingo2000 scored 6 points, taking advantage of the higher weigh of wins in RHP tournaments rule.
Talem16 and anom-asil lost more points, but it wasn't important. Kingo2000 and his one point advantage, won all his other games, putting his opponents out of combat.
Kingo2000 stands the Denmark flag.
Group 30 - No surprises in this group, just a little fact for our chronicle.
TRACKHEAD21 (1253, 2130 at Jan 3rd) was the group top player and, by far, the favorite.
He has beaten all his opponents until March 24th, when he left all his games in RHP, due to a sickness, as he wrote in his profile.
Then, warranted in the 2nd round, he lost, as a concession, for BluesChord (1561, 1377 at Jan 3rd).
TRACKHEAD21 stands the US flag.
Group 31 - One of the most interesting games of the 2005 Championship 1st round, has come to pass in this group, involving Tornado100 (1297, 1198 at Jan 3rd), who defeated Zumdahl (1942, 1806 at Jan 3rd), the 2nd group favorite, in 12 striking moves (Game 874320).
Gatecrasher (2104, 1887 at Jan 3rd) was the group top player and 1st favorite. He won all his games, except versus Zumdahl, with whom he had a draw (Game 874378).
Gatecrasher stands the South Africa flag.
Group 32 - One more no surprises group. The favorite, awrightus (2026, 1770 at Jan 3rd), won all his games, except one, a draw with IMOllie (1536, 1492 at Jan 3rd) in the Game 874320.
He stands the US flag.
Group 33 - No surprises again. The group top competitor and favorite, fernando J P Vasquez (2248, 2198 at Jan 3rd), as IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys, cbd, harrinpj, hushpuppy, Prefect and mistsplicer, won all his games.
J P Vasquez stands the Portugal flag.
Group 34 - This was the only 2005 Championship 1st round group with two players progressing to the 2nd round.
A place where "friendship" can be found, or I should say "cowardice". No it's too strong. I think that the correct word is "convenience".
ThePO (2290, 2222 at Jan 3rd), In His Name (2257, 2160 at Jan 3rd) and BlackBuck (2182, 2079 at Jan 3rd) were the group favorites.
I must say that I don't envy BlackBuck fate. Being a top RHP player, he saw himself forced to face two of the RHP top ten players and, then, collapsed for their better condition (Game 874713, Game 874774, Game 874768 & Game 874779).
ThePO and In His Name tied their match in two draws (Game 874712 & Game 874763).
This is what I have called "convenience", or, if someone would like, "cowardice".
But I prefer to think about "friendship", for both of them plays under Reverend Kirk orchestration in BWA clan, and both of them speaks Portuguese. Even though Hamed Eli (In His Name) is a Lebanese, he lives in Brazil, a Portuguese language country.
ThePO stands the Portugal flag and In His Name stands the Brazil flag.
Group 35 - Tequila (2040, 2113 at Jan 3rd) was the only Group favorite, and, as IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys, cbd, harrinpj, hushpuppy, Prefect, mistsplicer and fernando J P Vasquez, won all his 1st round games.
Tequila stands the Czech Republic flag, but he lives in Saudi Arabia and seems to be an American guy.
Group 36 - Another no surprises group.
In a no defeat presentation, winning all his games besides one, a draw (Game 874768) with TanCoul (1933, 1830 at Jan 3rd), his closest opponent, no1marauder (2115, 1917 at Jan 3rd), the group favorite, has progressed to the 2nd round.
He stands the US flag.
Group 37 - KellyJay (1535, 1679 at Jan 3rd), 100 points ahead of all other group rivals, should be the group favorite. But, there was a rising RHP player, webreaper (2123, 1579 at Jan 3rd).
As IronMan31, Quirine, nicohuyboom, Duhian, Baca, Perrys, cbd, harrinpj, hushpuppy, Prefect, mistsplicer, fernando J P Vasquez and Tequila, webreaper won all his 1st round games.
He stands the England flag.
