We should have Banded 2006 championships as well. Pretty much the same format except the minimum number of people needed would be smaller (say 20?).
I'd rather see some banded tournaments going under another title. Something like 'Big Winter Face Off' or something (and 'Big Summer Face Off' for the southern hemisphere).

Originally posted by GalaxyShieldI have just done so. But I have requested it to be duels. I like duels better than groups, and it will be easier to get 64 entrants (to make it worthy calling the tournament 'big'π. Requested it to be a 3/7 timeout period too, by the way.

Actually... It may be a nice idea to open up this tournament to non-subscribers too so it will be a full RHP championship.
this one already has strong meaning as it is formulated - for subscribers only.
it will be up to chris and russ - do they want the overheads of such a potentially massive tournament ... it could have a huge number of entrants ... it could be a great opportunity ... and almost certainly be won by an "advanced chess" player (human + computer combination)
it could cause massive growth in rhp/ it could cause chaos.
either way - it should be isolated from the 2006 championship.
perhapss it could be called: rhp v the world!
