somewhere on the website it says that entering tournaments will greatly increase your number of games played. if i enter the 2009 tournament how often will i be required to move and how many games will i concurrently be playing?

You'll get 18 games and have 60 days to complete all of them.

No, 18 games with 0 timeout and 60 timebank. If you win your group and make it to the next round, you'll get 18 more games with the same time control.

Exactly. And of coure its 18 games in 120 days, since your opponent might not move immidiately every time.

So the whole tournament is about 120 days per round three rounds or roughly 360 days.

Roughly applies since some people will take vacation time and some people won't take timeouts which will prolonge the rounds.

And yes this are big groups and you play all of your opponents simultaneoulsy.

I thought that timeouts are automatic wins (losses) in tournaments, with no action required by the player. Is this true? If not, what prevents a tournament from being held up indefinitely by a player who refuses to take a skull?
