2200+ Banded Quartet

Never seen a tournament this exclusive before! The target maximum entry is 24. But currently only 45 players are eligible, and a fair number of them are only semi-active. Optimistic if you think this will fill 😲

True, 45 players do have a rating of 2200+
But to enter the tournament the TER counts....

So there are more than 45 who can enter. ( Don't know how many...)

Ah, yes. So you could enter, even though your current rating is below 2200. But Kooiejie, for example, cannot enter because his TER is 2199

Not really, 18 of these 45 are non subs and as such cannot enter.

The lowest ranked player with an eligible TER is in 75th place.

Of the top 75 ranked players, 29 are non subs leaving a maximum pool of 46.

Of that pool, only 30 players fit the criteria, though several are just 3 points or less away for achieving the 2200 required.

Players 1-30 20 eligible
Players 31-60 9 eligible
Players 61-75 1 eligible

To get 24 from 30 entering is a tall order.

Perhaps there should be 'Wildcard' entries......you know like in Tennis at Wimbeldon??
