It's an interesting idea but I would prefer to see something more
along the lines of the US vs ROW match but with individual countries.
Perhaps 6 people making up a team for each country and then
competing against other countries. I haven't thought about this fully
(does it show?! ๐Ÿ˜€) but it could be a lot of fun.

yep, thinking of that is a better suggestion because familys could still
play in a team.

good thinking

How many families are there who play? Would say my girlfriend count
as family?

I quite like Mark's idea, I don't know how difficult it would be to set up
under the current coding for the tournamants, but it would be cool if
we could form our own teams and compete against each other. Say
teams of four, then play round robin. The team with the most points
wins, or for a longer tornament maybe have team knockouts. It would
be cool if we could give our teams names and everything, maybe log
this all to one player who is the team manager - or something like
that.

I am sure you could also have a "join a team" function if you are on
you own and want to play, and and conversely a "find new players"
function for those teams that do not have enough members to make
up the entry requirement. This way you can have family teams and
teams of any other type joining.

At least you would know if you had any mates!!!

How about a tournament with an America's Cup theme? Just a
suggestion. ๐Ÿ˜›

I second that. It would be cool to have a tournament where the U.S.
played the Netherlands, Western Europe, Australia, etc. If we could
break down loacations to managable and fairly equal groups this
setup could be a lot of fun.

Pulling for OneWorld? I am. It would be great to come to Seattle in 5
years and see them defend.

This is an interesting idea.

I tried to make the tournament code as flexible as possible (hence
the different type of tournaments), but it will not stretch to this.

What I may do is create another version of it built for this purpose
alone. I have to say, it would be cool.

I do happen to have 2 weeks off work over christmas, so that should
allow be to spend some late nights hacking - it will be at the bottom
of my current list, but I will see what I can do.

Russ,

Thanks for the effort. But, do not neglect your Christmas cheer. I
suppose that which ever country wins this tournament would be the
defender next year. Then, all of the other countrys would fight for the
right to challenge in '04. Sort of a round robin within the country, then
each country winner would meet for the right to challenge the
defender.

Keep up the good work!

Bill in the 'burgh.
