So far there are no entries for this tourney, as far as I know most of the tourneys once they are availble they will be filled up very fast. I wonder why?

Actually the rate at which tournaments fill is very dependant on the type of tournament, banded tournaments fill slower (especially at the higher end) as only a subset of players can join the tournament.
This tournament has a min rating of 2200 meaning only 24 players (22 over 2200 plus Brett L and cludi who are currently below it but have Max in the past 30 days that qualify).
So if only 24 players could join if they wanted to is it all that surprising that none have yet? How many of those have seen the tournament so far? How many are willing to take on 6 more games against the cream of the site (which will obviously require lots of time compared to games against 1200 players)?

Thanks for the explaination. I get it now. But the March banded tourneys have just started too. I will be signing up for it. Looks like the Big Guns will remain as it is because many players prefer the banded ones though.
Also, how many of those big guns arn't playing in a couple of high band tournaments or the 2006 championship? It would certainly be interesting to watch (our own Linares Super Tournament), but I doubt it will get off the ground.
