What do you guys think about some endgame tournamnets (unrated of course)

Ideas include:

K & Q vs K & R;
K, B & N vs K;
K, R & 2P vs K, R & P;
etc.

So you're basically saying we should have a thematical tournament that's almost completely played?

Personally, I don't like it but who am I to judge?

Yes, exactly.

Mainly to help all those people who ask for help on these sort of things. Lots of people don't know how to play basic endings and there is no substitute for practice.

That's true but there is also the set pieces function which would work just as well.

It's not that bad, but an endgame with an obvious win (K+R vs K) seems pointless since there is an almost-certain winer. Now, something like a K+R+2P vs K+R+3P endgame would still have some chances for both players, so that has some potential. 😉

Umm, woudln't it be possible for people to simply copy the moves of the strongest player in the tournie? B+N Endings (as far as i'm aware) are pretty uniform in the move order. If David Tebb or someone like that entered an 1100 could just copy his moves surely?
