How many rounds?

How many rounds are there to each tournament?
How many people advance into each round of each tournament?
How do you know ahead of time the answer to each of these
questions?
Without that knowledge it is difficult to know how many games
one is about to play when your looking at clan league games, clan
games, challenges, and so on.
