I have to say, the couple of banded tournaments I've entered have been a real pleasure. There's a lot more prospect of "upsets" when the ratings are relatively close.

Good stuff. Entered one of them, here is hioping someones rating doesn't suddenly jump to 200 points above the rating band which has happened in the past.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, just when I am out for half a day, suddenly a tournament have started.
Sigh... Waited days for a rating controlled tournament to start and being alert to enter before it is fully booked. And yes, all seats for those rated 1200-1400 have been taken already.

Can we have announcements when tournaments start? We could anticipate on it next time...

Yup... same thing happened to me. At work for a few hours and then *whamm0*, all 32 seats filled in my "band." Was looking forward to this one to get a better grip on exactly how horrible my game really is!

Seems like the 1200-1399 band could use 2 groups of 32... it always fills up long before any of the other bands.

Why not add banded clan league ranges as well too, along with
time countrols. It would allow some of the clans without very strong
players to fill a slot, it gives the full 20 member teams some choices
as to who they can and want to put into the prearranged league limits.
