RHP needs more banded tournaments. Use to have alot more. I enjoy tournaments were people have a equal chance of winning and are equally rated. So much more fun.

Suggest you look for a club that runs lots of banded tournaments.
M.U.T.I might be a good place to start.
    Leur sets up dozens.

Even the biggest clubs have trouble filling tournaments unless the bands are very wide, and if they're narrow you just get to play the same opponents over and over. Public banded tournaments are much better.

Chiming in my agreement - more banded tournaments would be wonderful.

Well, there is a tournament out there that *says* it's banded, but I'll be darned if I can figure out why it's calling itself that.

Tourney ID 16002 - January 2013 Mini Banded One Zero Threesomes I.

Maybe things will change when the new site is launched.

    Neither can I.
All banded tournaments have a range after the title
Looks like an error to me.

It was probably intended to be banded, but the appropriate box didn't get ticked. I do that all the time when I'm trying to create a set-piece game for a particular opponent, and keep ending up with open invites ...

Arent these bands of 25 points a bit extreme? And slow to fill?

I agree entirely. With 25 points you get to play the same opponents over and over, sometimes in 3 or 4 tournaments at once. I'd rather see 100-point bands, you're still playing people somewhere near your level and they'd fill a whole lot faster. Then we could have four times as many tournaments without clogging up the database any more. Perhaps the bottom level could be 0-1000 or 0-1050, give those who are really struggling a bit of encouragement to play more and maybe improve.

It's almost a month since we had any banded tournaments on offer. Bandings don't work in the clubs because the player pool isn't big enough, you keep getting the same opponents. We really need them available to everyone. Please consider creating something like weekly banded octets or quartets. Not just duels, they're only good for one pair of games each. Quartets give 6 games at a time so they're about right.

11 tournaments available, and not one of them is any use to me, or half the other paying customers on this site. What do we have to do to get banded tournaments???????

On the other hand, 25 point bands are narrow enough that you can elevate to the next one soon enough to get away from the 'same old opponents'.
