It seems that the dual player cup entrants are divided in two halves; top and bottom rated players, and then they play against someone from the relative position in the opposite half. Shouldn't it be completely random as to who you get? That way players in the bottom half could win a couple of games instead of being knocked out in the first round.

In addition, the current way means that a player in the bottom half of the top group has an advantage over the players drawn in the top of the bottom half.

When you sign up for a tournament check out the Pairing type. If it says 'Original', you will get what you just described. If it says 'Random', you will get what you are looking for....
