The best way to determine it is using a tournament manager program. I believe I have one somewhere.
Hey, if we can get one more eligible player to sign up, we'll have an even number and can get this tournament started. Who should we recruit? Both PBE6 and Phlabby were fairly frequent contributors in the early days of the dead-thread.
Also is each match a black and white game? This will wreak hell on the later pairings (as in a standard swiss a single game is played).
RookRAK hit me up on MSN (xanthosnz@gmail.com), yahoo or AIM (xanthosnz) or via PM and we'll work out details.
Originally posted by XanthosNZWe're going to play a pair of games each round, black/white, so you're right in this way it differs from traditional Swiss. However, that takes color assignment out of the assignment equation - leaving a totally straightforward algorithm.

There is software to do this, but it won't be needed. With only 20 or so people, and no color issue, and no byes, it's 5 minutes of work at most per round.

Originally posted by XanthosNZI'm guessing he's just going to consider the point totals as what they are. So in the second round, people with 2 points are matched up, people with 1.5 are matched up, etc.

Here's the current entry list, along with what the seeds would be if we started now.
You'll see I'm on a run and have clawed my way out of the #11 spot - the first person in the bottom half always plays the top seed in round 1.
A few people would like to wait until after the new year to start, so I'll see if I can round up a few more players.
