Who is going to do the pairing up? I know the first round is top half vs. bottom half (with 20 players 1 plays 11, 2 plays 12 .... 10 plays 20) but after the first round it gets more complicated. The best way to determine it is using a tournament manager program. I believe I have one somewhere.
Also is each match a black and white game? This will wreak hell on the later pairings (as in a standard swiss a single game is played).
RookRAK hit me up on MSN (xanthosnz@gmail.com), yahoo or AIM (xanthosnz) or via PM and we'll work out details.

We're going to play a pair of games each round, black/white, so you're right in this way it differs from traditional Swiss. However, that takes color assignment out of the assignment equation - leaving a totally straightforward algorithm.
There is software to do this, but it won't be needed. With only 20 or so people, and no color issue, and no byes, it's 5 minutes of work at most per round.

I suppose if you view both 2-0 and 1.5-0.5 as wins and 1-1 as a draw then it works for result matching.

I'm guessing he's just going to consider the point totals as what they are. So in the second round, people with 2 points are matched up, people with 1.5 are matched up, etc.

No pressing need to start. I just hadn't gotten any new entries today so though maybe we had everyone who was interested. No problem doing nothing until after the holidays.

No! Seed us now, now I say! Before it all goes wrong again!

That's a good idea.
I will generate the pairings on New Years Day - no promise on time of day.
I completely forgot that you created this thread, RookRAK. Looks like I'm already on the list! This should be quite an interesting tournament; I believe this is the first one ever created because of poster contribution to a thread.
