Why do we wait???

Why do we have wait until all the games are completed in a round before moving on to the next round? In many tournamnets the Group winners are known, yet we have to wait for games between non-Group winners to finish. Some of these can drag on for weeks or even months

A rival site does move on to the next round as soon as all round winners are known, so the software exists.

agreed. How do they do games in progress? do they end them or let them play out for rating, but still move on with the winners?

They let them play out the games.

This is a much discussed problem, and it will be addressed in future.
