A wild Blackmar Diemer.

  • 17... Qd4g4
A Queen fork this time, and if Bf3 the Rook drops. White's reply is forced.
    • 18. Ke2f1 Bh4xg5
Another white pawn falls. White's kingside pawn cover is all gone and the king is exposed but black is running out of steam. This capture allows one of his three attacking pieces to be exchanged off reducing the risk of disaster for white.
      • 19. Bd2xg5 Qg4xg5 20. Nc3e4
White has had a bit of a kicking, but can now begin a counter attack, placing his pieces more aggressively, with tempo, and driving the black pieces away.
        • 20... Qg5f5
I'm not sure about this move. It seemed to me that it helps white by forcing the king to free f1 for the rook from where it can attack black's Queen.
          • 21. Kf1g1 O-O 22. Ra1f1 Qf5b5 23. Nd3c5
This interrupts the protection of the the knight on h5 as well as preventing the other black knight coming out on d7. Moves like Ng5 or Nd6 are in the air.
            • 23... g6
A mistake as the knight is not protected. The "weakness" on f6 is more important.
              • 24. Rh3xh5
If the rook is taken then Nf6+ followed by Qh7 is mate.
                • 24... f5
                  Pretty much the only move.
                  • 25. Nc5xe6
Threatens the rook and pins the f pawn to the black Queen. White's pieces swarm round the Black King whilst his knight and rook are stuck in the corner.
                    • 25... gxh5 26. Ne6xf8 Kg8xf8 27. Ne4d6
Forking Queen and f pawn. Black still has four pawns for the bishop but their position is terrible.
