Romain Édouard is a French chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster, which he achieved in 2007. He was born in Rouen, France, on November 20, 1990. He is widely recognized for his numerous victories in major chess tournaments.


Édouard first showcased his talent for chess at a young age. He won the French Youth Chess Championship for his age category in 2003 and 2006, as well as the European Youth Chess Championship under-16 category in 2006. He also participated in the 2010 Chess Olympiad, representing France and helping the team to a fifth-place finish.


In 2007, at 16 years old, he received the title of International Master. In the same year, he earned the title of Grandmaster, the highest title in chess. This achievement marked him as one of the youngest French players to become a Grandmaster.


Throughout his career, Édouard has collected an impressive list of tournament wins. He won the Paris Championship in 2010, the French Championship in 2012, and finished second in the 2008 and 2014 French Championships. He also won the Baku Open in 2015 and the Seville Open in 2017.


Édouard has also authored several chess books covering various aspects of the game. His works include "My Magic Years with Topalov", "The Chess Manual of Avoidable Mistakes", and several volumes of "Chess Calculation Training".
