Ibro Šarić is a Bosnian Croat chess player who earned the title of Grandmaster in 1980. Born on February 25, 1947 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he became Yugoslav champion in 1986 and competed in many international tournaments.
Šarić won multiple international tournaments such as the ones in Serbia, Zagreb and Reggio Emilia. He also represented Yugoslavia in Chess Olympiads, winning a team bronze medal in 1980.
Throughout his career, Šarić has played against many significant chess players such as Garry Kasparov, Anatoly Karpov, and Jan Timman. Despite retiring in 1991, he has remained an active chess trainer and coach.
