Gergely Antal is a Hungarian American chess Grandmaster who was born on March 3rd, 1985. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE, the International Chess Federation, in 2009.
Antal lived in the United States for an extended period of time, studying at the Texas Tech University where he also played for the university's chess team. During this time, he won some notable titles, including the 2009 Spice Cup Group "B," the Southwest Open, the Texas Collegiate Chess Championship and the Lubbock Open.
In addition to his playing career, Antal worked as a chess coach at both Texas Tech University and Webster University, contributing to both institutions' reputations for chess excellence.
