Sergey Arkhipov is a Russian chess Grandmaster and International Arbiter. Born on July 18, 1954, Arkhipov achieved the title of International Master in 1993, then International Grandmaster in 1996, and finally, International Arbiter in 2009.
In 2004, Arkhipov won the Moscow Championship, and he has also scored well in a number of Russian Championships. Between 1992 and 2006, he participated in seven European Team Chess Championships. Additionally, he has competed in a vast number of other chess tournaments, where he faced off against some of the world's finest players.
Arkhipov has authored books on chess such as "The Complete Pirc" and "Easy Guide to the Panov-Botvinnik Attack". He is not only recognised for his playing ability, but also for his contribution to chess literature and his work as a chess arbiter.
