Vahe Baghdasaryan is an Armenian Chess Grandmaster. Born on June 21, 1955, he won the Armenian Chess Championship in 1975, 1976 and 1980. He played for Armenia in the Chess Olympiad twice, in 1992 and 1994. He was awarded the International Master (IM) title in 1982, and bestowed the Grandmaster (GM) title in 2002. Baghdasaryan was also a prolific chess writer and worked as a chess coach over the years. Notably, he coached Levon Aronian, one of the world's top players. Baghdasaryan passed away on October 30, 2020.
