Amir Bagheri is an Iranian chess player who earned the Grandmaster title in 2004. He was born on February 7, 1978 in Tehran, Iran. Bagheri showed talent in chess at a young age and won several championships during his early career. He won the Iranian Youth Chess Championship and the Iranian Men's Chess Championship multiple times.


Bagheri garnered attention in the chess world by winning the European Club Cup in 2001 with the NAO Chess Club team. He also represented Iran in several Chess Olympiads. In 2003, he made headlines by playing more than 1,200 blitz games on the internet in a single month. Despite his achievements, Bagheri faced challenges due to political situations in his country. He decided to retire from professional chess and emigrate to France where he continues to coach and promote the game.


Amir Bagheri, despite being away from professional chess, made contributions in improving the game's understanding through his training materials including chess books and DVDs.
