Alexander Bagrationi is a Georgian Chess player who earned the title of International Master (IM) in 2006 and Grandmaster (GM) in 2008. He was born on 23 March 1985 in Tbilisi. He successfully participated in several international tournaments and achieved impressive results in his chess career.
In 2002 he ranked second in the Georgian youth championship and in the same year, he won an adult championship in Tbilisi. In 2003, Bagrationi won the under-18 European championship, and in 2004, he shared 1st place at the Szeged Open in Hungary. He won the Teplice Open in 2007 in the Czech Republic. In 2009, he won the 26th Agzamov Memorial in Uzbekistan.
In team competitions, Bagrationi won the Georgian Team Championship three times. In addition, he represented the national team in two Chess Olympiads and in three European Team Championships. Alexander Bagrationi is the son of Georgian chess master David Bagrationi.
