Csaba Balogh is a Hungarian chess Grandmaster and an author of several chess books. He was born on 19 March 1987 in Budapest, Hungary. He achieved his Grandmaster title in 2004 at the age of 17.

As a junior player, Balogh won the European Youth Chess Championship and the World Youth Chess Championship in various age categories. He participated in the World Chess Championship in 2007 and 2011.

In team competitions, he represented his country in the Chess Olympiad, the World Team Chess Championship, and the European Team Chess Championship. In the Chess Olympiad, he won a team silver medal in 2014 and two individual bronze medals in 2008 and 2012. In addition, Balogh was a member of the NOVA team (based in Szeged, Hungary) which won the 2013 European Chess Club Cup.
