David Baramidze is a German chess Grandmaster. Born October 27, 1988 in Tbilisi, Georgia, he moved to Germany with his parents at an early age. Baramidze earned his Grandmaster title in 2004 at the age of 15.
He gained prominence in the chess world through various successes, including winning three German Junior Championships in 2002, 2004 and 2005. As a result, he participated several times in the World Junior Championships, where his best result was sixth place in 2004.
Baramidze has won numerous tournaments, such as the ZMD Chess Festival in Dresden (2005 and 2007) and the Bavarian Open Championship in 2007. He has reached the final round of the German Championships several times. In 2010, Baramidze participated in the World Chess Championship in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia but didn't advance beyond the first round.
Baramidze has also represented Germany in several team tournaments. He played in several Chess Olympiads, and in the European Team Chess Championships of 2007, 2011, and 2013.
