Emanuel Berg is a Swedish International Chess Grandmaster and one of the top Swedish chess players. He was born on December 28, 1981 in Huddinge Municipality, Sweden. He earned the International Master title in 2000, and advanced to a Grandmaster in 2004.
Berg achieved a high-ranking performance during the 2005 8th European Individual Chess Championship in Dresden. This competition set him as one of the leading Swedish players since Ulf Andersson. He has been a member of the Swedish team for the Chess Olympiads since 2002 and in 2008 he won the individual silver medal on board two.
Berg is known for his aggressive playing style, demonstrating great innovation in the openings and is versatile when it comes to choosing variations within the complex game. He continues to compete at high levels both domestically and on the international stage.
