Bernadskiy has been participating in major tournaments with success since his early youth. He won the European Youth Chess Championship three times in different age categories (U10 in 2004, U12 in 2006, and U18 in 2012) and won the World Youth Chess Championship in the U10 category in 2004.
In the World Chess Cup 2015, Bernadskiy was eliminated in the first round by grandmaster Wesley So, but he reached the third round in the 2017 edition.
In addition to individual competitions, Bernadskiy has also competed in team events, representing Ukraine in the World Team Chess Championship and the European Team Chess Championship.
Despite his age, Bernadskiy is an experienced chess teacher as well, having collaborated with one of the top chess training platforms, iChess.net.
