Piotr Bobras is a Polish International chess Grandmaster. He was born in 1977 in Białystok, Poland. Bobras initially held the rank of International Master, which he gained in 1998. He achieved the elite rank of Grandmaster in 2002.
Bobras has had numerous victories in chess tournaments, both nationally and internationally. Notably, he won the Polish Junior Championship in 1994. He also triumphed at the Open Jelcz-Laskowice twice, the Stare Babice tournament thrice, and the Gdańsk Capital of Culture three times. Additionally, he won the 2006 JosepSuñéó Darné tournament in Barcelona and triumphed at the Ciudad de Benidorm event in 2007.
Between 1998 and 2004, Bobras was a repeated competitor in the Chess Olympiad, playing on the Polish national team. He has also been a competitor at the European Team Chess Championship.
Later, in 2009, he tied for first place at both the International Neckar Open and the French Team Chess Championship.
On top of his competitive feats, Bobras also holds a master's degree in business and administration from the University of Białystok. He is an accomplished chess coach, training young talents at the Białystok Chess Club, where he started his own career.
