Jean-Luc Chabanon is a French chess player who achieved the rank of Grandmaster in 1994. He was born on July 20, 1967, in France. Chabanon has excelled in chess from a young age, winning the French Youth Chess Championship in 1983 and 1984. He also represented France in the World Junior Chess Championship in 1987, where he finished in eighth place.
Chabanon's most distinguished moment in his chess career came in 1992, when he won the prestigious Paris City Chess Championship. After receiving his Grandmaster title in 1994, he continued to perform well in various international chess tournaments.
In addition to playing, Chabanon is also a respected chess coach, and has worked for the French Chess Federation. He coached the French national women's chess team from 2008 until 2012, and since 2011, he has been training young players at the Cannes-Echecs chess club.
